Cycle3 IT Staffing is seeking a Network Administrator for a permanent full time opportunity.
In this the Network Administrator II you will provide support and leadership with the IT system administration team by performing daily systems management activities as well as assisting the senior staff with various projects. You probably have knowledge and experience with Microsoft desktop products, Networking, SAN/NAS Storage, and IT Security/Compliance. You are self-disciplined to work unsupervised and have the drive to gain knowledge of the unfamiliar and the tenacity to resolve difficult or tedious problems.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
PRIMARY:
· Cisco Network maintenance and administration, including access, rights, and configuration
· Manage equipment to streamline network performance
· Assisting Senior staff with the day-to-day management of various systems
· Assisting with EMC SAN management as backup storage administrator
· Suggesting and providing IT solutions to business and management problems
· Ensuring that all IT equipment complies with industry standards
· Implementing and monitoring security measures and standards
· Training users – sometimes one-on-one, sometimes in groups, and providing written guidelines and instructions
· Working closely with other departments/organizations to analyze requirements or solve problems
· Planning and implementing future IT developments
· System maintenance and administration of internal networks and public web services
· Monitoring and reporting system performance
SECONDARY:
· Installing and supporting new network and storage infrastructure
· Ensuring that hardware and software systems are maintained
· Providing technical support to users with very different levels of IT knowledge
· Trouble-shooting ranging from critical system outages to forgotten passwords
· Participating in projects as a technical support knowledge base
· Work closely with other teams for problem resolution and project coordination
Qualifications
- 3 – 5 years prior technical support experience
- Strongly developed analytical and troubleshooting skills
- Good communication skills (written and oral)
- Knowledge and Experience with Cisco equipment
- Experience with managed networks and network storage devices
- Specific EMC SAN experience a plus
- Experience with telephony, specifically VoIP
- Experience with IT security and compliance
Education and/or Experience
- AS in related field or equivalent work experience
- Certified – At least one test-based IT certification – CCNA, MCSA, etc.
- 2+ years working with the various technologies outlined above
