Cycle3 IT Staffing is seeking an SAP Basis Manager for a full time permanent role.

 

 

 

General Purpose:

Manage and lead the SAP Basis team in the daily operations of our SAP ecosystem. Responsibilities include SAP ECC 6, BW, Business Objects, Solution Manager, and SQL Server Database as well as several bolt-ons and supporting systems. Activities include leading the planning, analysis, troubleshooting, integration, installation, configuration, operations, and maintenance of the SAP systems. Additional responsibilities include managing periodic maintenance activities, refreshes, patching, and upgrades.

 

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide hands-on leadership and administration of the SAP Basis Administration for SAP ERP, SAP Netweaver, SAP Enterprise Portal, SAP Solution Manager, and SAP Web Dispatcher
  • Provide oversight of Microsoft SQL Server administration, installation, patching, and upgrade
  • Provide level 2 and 3 support for team members
  • Perform SAP system copy: homogeneous and heterogeneous migration
  • Perform SAP client copy: export and import as required
  • Configure and manage the SAP Transport Management System including migration of transports
  • Apply SAP enhancement packages and upgrades
  • Apply and maintain SAP add-ons and add-on upgrades
  • Review SAP security note releases and guide the team in testing and application
  • Applying SAP OSS (Online Service System) notes
  • Establish system monitoring alerts and thresholds
  • Implement system performance tuning improvements as required
  • Manage and tune the SAP database environment including monitoring indexes and tables spaces
  • Perform SAP Kernel upgrades
  • Maintain and configure the SAP GUI
  • Implement and maintain the SAP Fiori environment
  • Investigate, resolve, and document solutions for database problems
  • Monitor regularly scheduled server backup jobs
  • Provide leadership for troubleshooting and system performance initiatives
  • Perform staff management responsibilities, including work delegation and review, direction and guidance, escalation support, training and development, performance management, and other staffing responsibilities (e.g., Kronos, pay reviews, etc.)

Minimum Requirements:

Education and Experience

  • Computer Science or Information Technology degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • 7+ years of SAP Basis administration experience in a large scale enterprise, including management of large scale SAP systems in an enterprise environment
  • Leadership aptitude or supervisory/management experience
  • Experience with Windows Server and with deployments to the Azure environment
  • Experience to drive projects to completion
  • Certification and/or License – N/A

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong understanding of system administration and development life cycle methodologies
  • Knowledge of SAP Basis administration
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server operating system
  • Knowledge of SQL server database administration
  • Knowledge of system disaster recovery process
