General Summary:
Manage programming projects from project definition to project completion, perform administrative processes associated with projects, perform quality assurance testing, and insure standards are followed throughout development of software
Responsibilities:
• Ensure programming time is logged properly and timely
• Attend company meetings with Lead analyst and Department Managers
• Coordinate projects and troubleshoot problems within your team
• Assign help desk tickets and follow up on completion
• Prepare detailed documentation of job process and functions
• Keep his/her manager informed on progress of projects
• Assist with interviews and team evaluations
• Perform initial training of new employees/contractors in using department standards and procedures
• Review trade magazines
• Provide computer operator all job scheduling information
• Prepare project reporting for distribution to companies
• Monitor programmers' projects to keep on track, answer questions
• Produce monthly reports – Verify for accuracy:
– IT programming hours
– Completed projects report / Measured against estimates
• Produce weekly status reports – communicate to company
• Provide feedback to Lead Analysts for employee development
• Mentor Programmer to develop better project management practices
• Oversee team in testing new systems/programs for quality assurance prior to implementation
• Develop standards documentation for programmers to follow to promote consistency
• Complete miscellaneous duties as assigned by Senior Project Manager
Qualifications:
• One year experience as Project Manager or Project Leader a plus
• RPG/400 or ILE Programming in an AS/400 environment
• CLP Programming in an AS/400 environment required
• Experience with Hawkeye, Broderick, Questview, Fax/400, Robot
• Strong analytical skills
• Problem solving/Troubleshooting skills a must
• Positive attitude and acts as a team player
• Can communicate effectively with users, peers, and subordinates
• Reliable and conscientious – good work ethic
• Some travel may be required
• Excellent organizational skills required
• Ability to successfully multi-task
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
