This position is responsible for the implementation, maintenance and support of supply chain systems at company’s business unit and certain affiliates.  This position will provide leadership and strategic direction for Supply Chain Systems group, and develop relationships with business unit leaders to ensure the group’s direction is consistent with business unit goals.   Supply Chain Systems include ERP, warehouse management, asset management, product lifecycle, and other related systems.  This position will coordinate closely with the Director –and the Director – Corporate Systems. The company is a wholly-owned subsidiary that provides technology-related services to its affiliates, collectively operating approximately 30 production facilities throughout the U.S.

 Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and management of the Supply Chain Systems staff, projects and priorities, while embracing  values of integrity, quality, passion, accountability, drive, and innovation.
  • Function as CIO for business unit, understanding business needs, identifying opportunities for improvement, bringing innovative IT solutions to business problems, and serving as primary liaison between entities.
  • Function as the primary contact for affiliates utilizing company as their supply chain systems provider.
  • Develop overall strategy for supply chain systems, including selection of products, development of implementation timetables, utilization of external resources, and management of costs.  Successfully schedule and manage remaining implementations of ERP systems for company.
  • Implement policies and procedures to ensure the Supply Chain Systems group provides reliable and efficient technology services to company and affiliates.
  • Supervise recruitment, development, retention, and organization of staff in accordance with budget objectives and personnel policies.
  • Develop, track and control annual Supply Chain Systems operating and capital budgets.
  • Other duties as assigned

 Required Minimum Qualifications:

            Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology (or bachelor’s degree with equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years Supply Chain and/or IT experience
  • 3+ years management experience

            Necessary Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Experience in food-related manufacturing and/or distribution industries preferred
  • Strong knowledge of information systems and technology, including:
    • Proven experience leading or participating in successful ERP implementations
    • Experience with business intelligence tools and implementations
    • Successful management of relationships with third party vendors
    • Experience with and ability to analyze cost/benefit of third-party software
    • Experience with hardware requirements to support ERP environment
  • Strong oral and written communication skills – ability to effectively exchange ideas and information; demonstrated ability to communicate with all levels of management and staff: 
    • Proven ability to build strong working relationships with business units and customers
    • Ability to present a positive and professional image of the department
    • Ability to understand business requirements and utilize IT knowledge to offer solutions and alternatives to business issues
    • Ability to articulate complex technical issues in language that is understandable to non-IT business users and executives.  Able to summarize and present recommendations in a concise format. 
  • Self-motivated and results-oriented, with proven proclivity for action; able to translate broad general strategies to actionable items; able to balance careful planning and preparation with continuous progress towards completion of goals.
  • Experienced manager, with record of progressive management responsibilities:
    • Strong project management skills, with ability to manage large portfolio of projects, set priorities, and follow-up on progress
    • Good general management skills, including ability to manage conflict, negotiate, build and motivate teams, develop succession plans, manage change, solve problems, delegate, and make decisions.

  • Manager – Implementation Team
  • Manager –  Support

Percent Travel:

  • Up to 50%, including regular travel to/from corporate headquarters in Missouri

 Scope (Revenue, Number of Employees, etc.):

  • Supervise approximately 20 employees (salaried, hourly and contract)
  • Annual budget of approximately $5 million
