Cycle3 IT Staffing is seeking a Network Server Administrator for a permanent full time role. This person will be reporting to the Systems Manager in a desktop support and a back up to the manager.


This role is a blend of the two roles listed so candidates do not have to have everything listed.



  • Background
  • Works under administrative direction in a c-GMP regulated manufacturing environment operating under Q7A standards.


  • Employee is a subject matter expert who analyzes and identifies projects and technologies that will produce significant operational results and add value to the organization. They are responsible for determining methods of use of computers and related auxiliary equipment. Work is unsupported (single person department) and typically involves design, development and implementation of broad applications.


  • Tasks
  • Maintain systems (install updates) and provide extensive programming in Lotus Notes, MS Access and SQL server
  • Analyze, design and write complex applications using MAS-90 and Crystal Reports, Lotus Notes, MYSQL, LIMS, C++, MS Access and other established language(s); resolve complex applications or design issues; demonstrate broad exposure to all aspects of applications programming (such as file design, update, storage and retrieval)
  • Perform comprehensive studies and analyses of information processing functions, methods and procedures; make recommendations concerning feasibility of revising existing operations or adapting new applications for information processing solutions; advise management of any issues that may cause delays
  • Maintain availability of systems, operational efficiency and stability, and support of moderately complex system; provide back-up network operations support as necessary
  • Consult with and advise users concerning specific information processing procedures available and feasibility of using systems to solve business problems; provide development and support for application requirements; resolve design and development issues
  • Modify associated specification documentation for changed applications in accordance with approved standards
  • Analyze, modify and revise established procedures to incorporate changes in user needs and to maintain efficiency in information processing procedures
  • Develop and apply cross-checks and audit procedures to assure accuracy and reliable practices in information technology systems operations
  • Provide problem definitions and assignments; coordinate activities of staff engaged in the design, preparation and revision of computer programs and information processing operations
  • Develop prototypes for applications
  • Assist in instruction, training and advising of personnel in computer usage techniques, machine operations and related information processing applications
  • Adhere to all safety and quality requirements; enhance site safety
  • Maintain currency with the relevant applications literature


  • Specifications
  • B.S. degree. Credit for a major in a program that included (or was supplemented by) at least 18 semester hours in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.
  • Several years of progressively more responsible work experience that provided extensive programming in Lotus Notes, MS Access and SQL server, manufacturing environment preferred
  • Knowledge of:
  • Database management and/or current applications programs including C++, MAS-90 and Crystal Reports, MYSQL, LIMS, Lotus Notes, MS Office applications (Extensive level)
  • Validation and c-GMP requirements (preferred)
  • ERP systems for manufacturing operations (preferred)
  • Office methods and procedures

  • Works under general supervision in a c-GMP regulated manufacturing environment
  • Employees are responsible for performing quality customer service to Desktop Support customers by providing a single point of contact for problems and inquiries related to analytical, technical and administrative work in the planning, design, installation and maintenance of new and existing desktop and telephone systems.


  • Ensure customer satisfaction by responding to Desktop Support calls; prioritize, troubleshoot and resolve PC and telephone equipment, software and configuration problems in such a manner to maintain maximum uptime for local and off-site employees
  • Interview users to gather information about problems and work through diagnostic procedures to analyze and evaluate problems
  • Manage problem recognition, research, isolation, resolution and follow-up
  • Install and configure new PCs/laptops, telephones and peripheral equipment and upgrades
  • Assist management and users in determining PC equipment and software needs; source and price equipment, and provide recommendations to meet needs of users
  • Set up new users with requested software needs per department
  • Shut down users per HR department request
  • Maintain email distribution lists
  • Assist in management and maintenance of computer and software license records
  • Install and update printer equipment as needed
  • Maintain and contribute to IT policies and training
  • Log and track service tickets using tracking software; analyze incident reports and make recommendations to improve efficiency and effectiveness
  • Manage and maintain telephone extension lists
  • Monitor and maintain all specialized software such as LIMS, Bartender
  • Attend and participate in weekly IT meetings
  • Any other tasks deemed necessary by Management for the betterment of Jost operations


  • A.A. degree in Computer Science, MIS or equivalent vocational training
  • Five (5) years of IT experience that involved the application of desktop hardware and software. Up to two (2) years of this experience may be substituted for and/or added together with the educational requirements listed above
  • A+ Certification
  • Certification in Chemical terrorism Vulnerability Information




  • Knowledge of:

o   Modern operating systems and web serving (Thorough level)

o   Effective troubleshooting methodologies (Extensive level)

o   Installation and troubleshooting all currently supported versions of Windows operating systems, MS Office and Lotus Notes Software

o   LANs, WAN and remote communications

  • Skill in:

o   Dealing with customer problems, including follow-up

o   Responding to rapidly changing demands

  • Ability to:

o   Identify and resolve technical problems

o   Collect, process and record data accurately

o   Understand detailed written and oral instruction and established procedures

o   Manage time effectively and meet deadlines

o   Work effectively with a customer-service focus
